It’s Thoughtful Thursday! Kindness is Contagious!
I was reminded the other day of how important it is to be kind to one another and pay attention to what is going on around you. It has been said over and over again but it still bears repeating:
It’s the little things that bring joy everyday!
Last week when I was out and about with three of the grandkids ( 6, 5 and 7 months) I was reminded of how gracious and patient people are to one another.
As I attempted to get in the door of a busy store with the kids and the stroller, more than one person came to my assistance by holding the door open. It took all of 30 seconds but brightened my day.
I continued to experience little acts of kindness the entire day with the kids. It was so heart warming.
When I am out and about I make of point of helping out Moms as they wrangle with strollers and car seats and several young children because I remember all to well those challenging times.
It is easy to help someone out in those situations. It’s hard to miss the stroller or the active kids.
I wondered what would happen if we set the intention EVERYDAY to hold the door for EVERYONE, be patient when we drive, stand in line, or get in the express lane behind someone who has ( gasp) more than 12 items!
Patience isn’t always my best virtue especially when I am tired or had one of THOSE days. When I am being impatient and then I realize that someone is being kind, smiling and having patience with grumpy ole me it really turns things around. I WANT to be kind, and patient and smile at the next person. It feels good to pass those feelings on.
If we all dug deep into our patience and joy well I’ll bet more than a few people will go from having one of THOSE days to one of those AMAZING days.
How many people will you make smile today? Make it a thoughtful day! If you get a chance share who or what made your day and how you did the same for someone else!
